Of course they can. But if the college graduates just entering the workforce earn the project management certification, which is a important factor in recognizing quality in a profession, they become more marketable making five to six times as much salary.

  1. You normally start out as a project management assistant, or assistant to some other function, once you can handle projects more independently you could get promoted to a project manager. Earning a project management certification, allows you to become more sought-after making which may result in five to six times as much salary.

Project Managers or even Six Sigma Black Belts typically start out as team members on projects or students in Project Management; they may be in this period for 1-4 years. Upon establishing leadership and team facilitation strengths, they move on to project co-lead or leading small projects within their work area. Continuing educational is usually going on in this stage for 1-3 years.

Black Belt Certification or PMP, and other certifications normally follow next. This is where larger projects, and individual growth in using business process improvement are honed over the next 2-3 years.
